The first game of the new League One season between Bolton Wanderers and Milton Keynes Dons ended on a draw. Today’s result, leave both teams on 1 point and occupying 6th and 5th positions respectively, after their first match.
It was an impressive opening from Milton Keynes Dons, with Mo Eisa giving Milton Keynes Dons the lead in the 22nd minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Joshua Sheehan equalised for Bolton Wanderers in the 30th minute, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.
Bolton Wanderers took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Amadou Bakayoko in the 67th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Scott Twine in the 71st minute, brought Milton Keynes Dons level. Milton Keynes Dons looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Hiram Boateng at the 83 minute mark to establish a 3-2. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Alex Baptiste equalised for Bolton Wanderers just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 3-3 draw.
In the second round of action in the League One Bolton Wanderers will travel to play AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons will play Sunderland AFC at home.
