Blackpool eased past Doncaster Rovers in a 2-0 victory on Tuesday at Bloomfield Road. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Blackpool were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Northampton Town away and Sunderland AFC away, by 3-0 and 1-0 respectively. Doncaster Rovers, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Rochdale in their last match. At the moment, Blackpool are in 3rd place, with 77 points from 31 matches, while Doncaster Rovers sit in 12th, with 64 points from 31.
Blackpool started well, thanks to Ellis Reco Simms giving Blackpool the lead at the 22 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.
Blackpool continued to pile on the pressure in the second, with Ellis Reco Simms finding the net again in the 80th minute. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 2-0.
For Blackpool, Kevin Stewart, Keshi Anderson, Marvin Ekpiteta, Demetri Mitchell and Bradley Holmes, came on for Jordan Gabriel, Kevin Stewart, James Husband, Jerry Yates and Ellis Reco Simms. Doncaster Rovers replaced Omar Bogle, Anthony Greaves, James Coppinger and Josh Sims with Fejiri Okenabirhie, Reece James, Jason Eyenga-Lokilo and Tyreece John-Jules.
There were bookings for Jordan Gabriel, Kevin Stewart and James Husband from Blackpool. For Doncaster Rovers, Joe Wright saw yellow.
