Portsmouth FC beats AFC Wimbledon 3-1 on Saturday at Kingsmeadow. AFC Wimbledon wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town in their previous game. Portsmouth FC, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers in their last match. After today’s result, AFC Wimbledon are in 19th place, with 50 points from 45 matches, while Portsmouth FC sit in 6th, with 72 points from 45.

It was an impressive opening from AFC Wimbledon, with a goal from Joe Pigott at the 23 minute mark. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Ronan Curtis managed to equalize and take the sides off, on 24 minutes at 1-1. The momentum was now with Portsmouth FC, who then scored again through a goal from Lee Brown in the 45th minute to establish a 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Lee Brown just before half-time. The first half ended 1-3. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 3-1.

AFC Wimbledon will next play Lincoln City away, with Portsmouth FC facing Accrington Stanley at home.
