Accrington Stanley beats Shrewsbury Town 1-0 on Saturday at The Crown Ground. Accrington Stanley were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Milton Keynes Dons. Shrewsbury Town had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Gillingham FC. As the table looks today, Accrington Stanley are in 2nd place on the table and has 12 points while Shrewsbury Town sit in 22nd with 3 points after 6 matches.

Accrington Stanley started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Joel Mumbongo finding the net in the 15th minute, seeing out the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

For Accrington Stanley, Jovan Malcolm and Ethan Hamilton, came on for Joel Mumbongo and Matt Butcher. Shrewsbury Town replaced Nathanael Ogbeta, Shaun Whalley and Ryan Bowman with George Nurse, Daniel Udoh and Tom Bloxham.
