Travelling Eibar are humbled in a 2-1 defeat by Osasuna

Eibar fell to an away defeat at the hands of Osasuna at the Estadio El Sadar on Sunday. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Osasuna arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Real Betis. Eibar, on the other hand, lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Seville. As the table looks today, Osasuna are in 15th place, with 22 points from 22 matches, while Eibar sit in 17th, with 20 points from 22.

It was an impressive opening from Osasuna, with Jonathan Calleri opening the scoring, 18 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Kike just before half-time brought Eibar level to see out the first half 1-1.

Osasuna continued to pile on the pressure the second half, beginning with Ante Budimir opening the scoring just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for Osasuna.

For Osasuna Roberto Torres, Jon Moncayola, Adrian Lopez, Enric Gallego and Inigo Perez came on for Enrique Barja, Oier, Jonathan Calleri, Ante Budimir and Ruben Garcia, while Eibar brought on Esteban Burgos, Alejandro Pozo, Pape Diop, Sergio Alvarez and Quique to replace Pedro Bigas, Sergi Enrich, Recio, Kike and Edu Exposito.

Osasuna will next travel to Levante, while Eibar will face Real Valladolid at home.
