On Saturday, Getafe suffer an away defeat to Seville at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Seville were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Eibar away (2-0), the other to Cádiz at home (3-0). Getafe, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Alaves. After a goalless first half, Seville continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, with Munir El Haddadi opening the scoring in the 67th minute. Later, Seville scored again thanks to a goal from Papu Gomez, 87 minutes in to establish the 2-0. Later, Seville took the lead with a goal form a goal from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 89th minute just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for Seville.

The referee booked Nemanja Gudelj from Seville. Getafe had the worst of it though, with Marc Cucurella, Jaime Mata, David Timor and Damian Suarez seeing yellow, and Djene then sent off with a red.
