Sevilla travel to secure all 3 points in 2-1 victory against Alavés

Alavés on home loss to Sevilla at Estadio de Mendizorroza on Tuesday. Alavés were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Cádiz. Sevilla, on the other hand, were coming off the back of a 3-2 win against Real Sociedad. After today’s result, Alavés are currently 17th with 18 points from 19 matches, while Sevilla sit in 4th, with 33 points from 19.

Sevilla started well with, beginning with early goal from Youssef En-Nesyri in the 3rd minute. However, Alavés found an equaliser 1-1 thanks to a goal from Edgar Mendez in the 12th minute to bring things level. Sevilla took the lead thanks to a goal from Suso in minute 30 to establish the 2-1. The first half ended 2-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-1 at full time.

For Alavés Borja Sainz, Deyverson, Jota and Manu Garcia came on for Martin Aguirregabiria, Edgar Mendez, Luis Rioja and Tomas Pina, while Sevilla brought on Luuk De Jong, Nemanja Gudelj, Oliver Torres and Franco Vazquez to replace Lucas Ocampos, Joan Jordan, Suso and Youssef En-Nesyri.

There were bookings for Florian Lejeune, Edgar Mendez and Pere Pons from Alavés and Youssef En-Nesyri, Yassine Bounou and Jesus Navas for Sevilla.
