Real enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Rayo Vallecano at the Reale Arena on Sunday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Real were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Barcelona whilst Rayo were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Seville. As it stands, both teams are on 0 points and occupy 18th and 19th places after 2 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Real piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal giving The White and Blues the lead, 68 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.
For Real, Adnan Januzaj, Portu, Jon Guridi, Jon Pacheco and Ander Guevara, came on for David Silva, Ander Barrenetxea, Mikel Merino, Aihen Munoz and Alexander Isak. Rayo brought on Isi Palazon, Bebe, Randy Nteka, Pathe Ciss and Yacine Qasmi, to replace Martin Merquelanz, Alvaro Garcia, Andres Martín, Óscar Valentín and Santi Comesana.
There were bookings for Alexander Isak, Jon Pacheco and Robin Le Normand from Real. For Rayo, Oscar Trejo, Santi Comesana, Ivan Balliu and Francisco Garcia saw yellow.
