Betis snatched all three points from Getafe in a narrow 1-0 victory on Friday, at the Estadio Benito Villamarin. Real Betis were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Villarreal. Getafe, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Real Sociedad. At the moment, Real Betis and Getafe sit 6th, (36 points) and 14th, (24 points), spots respectively, after 24 matches.

After a goalless first half, Real Betis continued to apply pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Borja Iglesias, 84 minutes in. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

For Betis, Cristian Tello, Borja Iglesias, Joaquin, Juanmi and William Carvalho came on for Angel Rodriguez, Allan Nyom, Nemanja Maksimovic and Cucho Hernandez, while Getafe brought on Carles Alena, Takefusa Kubo, Enes Ünal and Jaime Mata to replace Angel Rodriguez, Allan Nyom, Nemanja Maksimovic and Cucho Hernandez.

The referee booked nine players. Sergio Canales, Guido Rodriguez, Andres Guardado and William Carvalho from Betis saw yellow cards and William Carvalho (2 yellow cards) sent off with a red, as well as for Getafe Erick Cabaco, Mauro Arambarri, Sofian Chakla and Allan Nyom received yellows.

Real Betis will play their next fixture away against Cádiz, while Getafe will face Valencia at home.
