Mallorca 2 – Osasuna 3: The Vermilions unable to stop visitors getting win

Osasuna strolled past Mallorca with a 3-2 win on Sunday at Estadi de Son Moix. Both Mallorca and Osasuna arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Mallorca arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to R Madrid. Osasuna lost 3-1 in the last match they played against Real Betis. As things stand, Mallorca are in 12th place on the table and has 8 points while Osasuna sit in 6th with 11 points after 7 matches.

Osasuna started strongly in the first half, with Jose Angel finding the net at the 9 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Dani Rodriguez in the 11th minute, brought The Vermilions level. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Fernando Nino just before half-time. The score at half time was 2-1.

Los Rojillos continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Inigo Perez finding the net at the 58 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Javi Martinez made it 3-2 just before the final whistle to make it 3-2.

For Mallorca, Lago Junior, Abdon, Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Angel Rodriguez, came on for Kang In Lee, Fernando Nino, Salva Sevilla and Amath Ndiaye. Osasuna brought on Unai Garcia, Kike Garcia, Ruben Garcia, Manu Sanchez and Nacho Vidal, to replace Aridane, Ezequiel Avila, Inigo Perez, Jose Angel and Jesus Areso.

There were bookings for Fernando Nino and Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta from Mallorca, and Aridane, Oier and Unai Garcia, for Osasuna.

Osasuna and Mallorca will next play at home to Rayo Vallecano and Levante respectively.
