Mallorca 1 – Espanyol 0: The Vermilions secure 3 points at home against Budgerigars

Mallorca beats Espanyol 1-0 on Friday at Estadi de Son Moix. Mallorca were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Espanyol had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Villarreal. As it stands, Mallorca and Espanyol currently occupy 1st and 15th spots in the table, with 7 points and 2 points respectively after 3 matches.

Mallorca started the first half well, thanks to Dani Rodriguez finding the net, at 27 minutes and managed to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

For Mallorca, Aleksandar Sedlar, Amath Ndiaye, Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Rodrigo Battaglia and Abdon, came on for Franco Russo, Jordi Mboula, Salva Sevilla, Take and Fernando Nino. Espanyol brought on Nicolas Melamed Ribaudo, Manu Morlanes, Aleix Vidal, Loren Moron and Alvaro Vadillo, to replace Adri Embarba, David Lopez, Javi Puado, Nany Dimata and Oscar Regano.

The referee booked Fernando Nino, Take, Brian Olivan and Aleksandar Sedlar from Mallorca. Espanyol had the worst of it though, with Leandro Cabrera and Manu Morlanes seeing yellow, and Sergi Gomez then sent off with a red.

Mallorca will next travel to Athletic Bilbao, while Espanyol will face Atletico Madrid at home.
