Madrid squeeze past Huesca in 2-1 victory at El Alcoraz

Madrid enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Huesca at El Alcoraz on Saturday. Huesca were looking to pick up points, following a 3-1 victory against Real Valladolid. Real Madrid were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Levante. As the table looks today, Huesca are in 20th place on the table and has 16 points while Real Madrid sit in 2nd with 43 points after 22 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Huesca staged a comeback in the second half, following early goal from Javi Galan in the 48th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as an equalizer from a goal from Raphael Varane in the 55th minute brought Real Madrid level. Later, Real Madrid scored again and turned the match thanks to another goal from Raphael Varane, scoring his second goal in the 84th minute to hand victory to the visitors.

For Huesca, Dani Escriche, Javier Ontiveros, David Ferreiro and Juan Carlos came on for Alvaro Odriozola, Ferland Mendy and Vinicius Junior, while Madrid brought on Marcelo, Marvin Park and Mariano Diaz to replace Alvaro Odriozola, Ferland Mendy and Vinicius Junior.

There were bookings for Pablo Maffeo and Gaston Silva from Huesca and Toni Kroos for Madrid.

Huesca will next travel to Seville, while Real Madrid will face Valencia at home.
