Levante 1 – Rayo 1- Victory elusive at the Ciutat de Valencia for both sides

Levante vs. Rayo Vallecano

Levante were held to 1-1 draw by Rayo down on Saturday at the Ciutat de Valencia. Levante were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Real Sociedad. Rayo were coming off the back of a 4-0 win against Granada. At the moment, Levante are in 12th place, with 2 points from 4 matches, while Rayo sit in 10th, with 3 points from 4.

The Frogs found the net first, with a goal from Roger Marti, 39 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

Rayo took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Sergi Guardiola just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 1-1.

For Levante, Dani Gomez, Mickael Malsa, Sergio Postigo, Son and Pepelu, came on for Alejandro Cantero, Jose Campana, Rober Pier, Roger Marti and Pablo Martinez. Rayo brought on Isi Palazon, Óscar Valentín, Sergi Guardiola, Unai Lopez and Bebe, to replace Martin Merquelanz, Pathe Ciss, Esteban Saveljich, Oscar Trejo and Randy Nteka.

There were bookings for Pablo Martinez, Jose Luis Morales and Mickael Malsa from Levante, and Pathe Ciss, Santi Comesana, Alvaro Garcia and Ivan Balliu, for Rayo.

Levante will next travel to Elche, while Rayo will face Getafe at home.
