Granada defeat Seville 1-0 on Sunday at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes. Granada were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Celta Vigo. Seville were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Espanyol and Valencia. As it stands, Granada and Seville currently occupy 17th and 4th spots in the league, with 6 points and 14 points respectively after 8 matches.

Granada started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Ruben Rochina giving Nasrids the lead in the 25th minute. The score at half time was 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Granada, Antonio Puertas, Sergio Escudero, German Sanchez, Ismael Ruiz Sánchez and Monchu, came on for Angel Montoro, Alberto Soro, Victor Diaz, Maxime Gonalons and Luis Milla. Seville brought on Munir El Haddadi, Papu Gomez, Jesus Navas, Oscar and Lucas Ocampos, to replace Suso, Joan Jordan, Gonzalo Montiel, Erik Lamela and Ivan Rakitic.

The referee booked Maxime Gonalons, Quini and Luis Suarez from Granada. Seville had the worst of it though, with Diego Carlos, Marcos Acuna and Lucas Ocampos seeing yellow, and Diego Carlos (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Granada will next play Atletico Madrid at home, with Seville facing Celta Vigo away.
