Celta eased past Alavés in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Municipal de Balaidos. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Celta arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 4-0 to Villarreal. Alavés had lost their previous match against Cádiz.
