Betis eased past Celta in a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at Benito Villamarin. Real Betis were looking to continue their run, following a 2-0 victory against Huesca. Celta were beaten 4-0 in the previous match against Villarreal. After today’s result, Real Betis are in 8th place, with 26 points from 19 matches, while Celta sit in 11th, with 23 points from 19.
Celta started strongly in the first half, beginning with a goal from Santi Mina in the 15th minute. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from a goal from Sergio Canales, 25 minutes in brought Real Betis level. Later, Real Betis took the lead with a goal form a new goal from Sergio Canales, scoring his second goal in the 44th minute just before half-time, finalising the first half with a 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-1.
