On Sunday, Celta and Eibar were held to a 1-1 draw at Municipal de Balaidos. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Celta arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Real Betis whilst Eibar lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Atlético Madrid. Celta started the game well, following a goal from Brais Mendez in the 9th minute, finalising the first half with a 1-0.
Eibar staged a comeback in the second half, with Bryan Salvatierra opening the scoring, 53 minutes in. The game ended a 1-1 draw.
