Thursday’s fixture between Cádiz and Barca delivered a goalless draw at Estadio Ramon de Carranza. Cádiz were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match whilst Barca are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following today’s result, Cádiz and Barca currently occupy 14th and 7th spots in the table, with 6 points and 9 points respectively after 6 matches.

For Cádiz, Jens Jonsson, Salvi Sanchez, Anthony Lozano, Alberto Perea and Carlos Akapo, came on for Fali, Alvaro Jimenez, Alvaro Negredo, Santiago Arzamendia and Isaac Carcelén. Barca brought on Sergi Roberto, Philippe Coutinho, Nicolas Gonzalez and Riqui Puig, to replace Yusuf Demir, Luuk De Jong, Gavi and Sergino Dest.

The referee booked Varazdat Haroyan, Carlos Akapo and Tomás Alarcon from Cádiz. Barca had the worst of it though, with Frenkie De Jong, Sergi Roberto and Sergio Busquets seeing yellow, and Frenkie De Jong (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Cádiz will next play Rayo Vallecano away, with Barca facing Levante at home.
