Barca 2 – Getafe 1- Points secure for Los Blaugranas at the Nou Camp

Getafe fell to an away defeat at the hands of Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday. Barca wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao. Getafe, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Seville. At the moment, Barca are in 4th place on the table and has 7 points while Getafe sit in 18th with 0 points after 3 matches.

Barca started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Sergi Roberto in the 2nd minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Sandro Ramirez producing an equaliser, 19 minutes in, bringing Deep Blues level. However, Los Blaugranas at the 30 minute mark found the back of the net following a Memphis Depay goal, to take a 2-1 lead into half time. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-1.

For Barca, Sergino Dest, Gavi, Nicolas Gonzalez and Óscar Mingueza, came on for Emerson, Sergi Roberto, Martin Braithwaite and Antoine Griezmann. Getafe brought on Damian Suarez, Jaime Mata, David Timor, Jose Macias and Koffi, to replace Juan Iglesias, Sandro Ramirez, Carles Alena, Enes Unal and Djene.

There were bookings for Ronald Araujo, Memphis Depay and Clement Lenglet from Barca. For Getafe, Carles Alena saw yellow.

Barca will next travel to Seville, while Getafe will face Elche at home.
