Barca enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Getafe at the Nou Camp on Thursday. Barca were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 2-1 to R Madrid. Getafe, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with R Madrid. As things stand, Barca and Getafe currently occupy 3rd and 15th spots in the league, with 68 points and 31 points respectively after 31 matches.
Barca didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Lionel Messi opening the rout in the 8th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Clement Lenglet producing an equaliser, 12 minutes in, bringing Deep Blues level. However, each side looked hungry to win and Los Blaugranas then found the back of the net, 28 minutes in thanks to Sofiane Chakla, taking the score to 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Lionel Messi, 33 minutes in, finalising the first half 3-1.
Getafe took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Enes Ünal at the 69 minute mark. However, Barca increased their lead 4-2 thanks to a goal from Ronald Araujo in the 87th minute. Barca then netted again and increased their advantage thanks to a penalty goal from Antoine Griezmann just before the final whistle to make it 5-2.
For Barca, Moriba Ilaix, Ronald Araujo, Trincao and Samuel Umtiti, came on for Clement Lenglet, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Oscar Mingueza. Getafe brought on Mauro Arambarri, Koffi, Sabit Abdulai, Enes Ünal and Josete Miranda, to replace Nemanja Maksimovic, Marc Cucurella, Carles Alena, Angel Rodriguez and Chema.
The referee booked Clement Lenglet and Ronald Araujo for Barca.
