Athletic Club and Valencia share the honours after a 1-1 draw

Athletic Club were held to 1-1 draw by Valencia down on Sunday at the Estadio San Mames. Athletic Club were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Barcelona. Valencia were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Elche. As it stands, Athletic Club are in 10th place on the table and has 25 points while Valencia sit in 12th with 24 points after 22 matches.

Athletic Club started strong and were rewarded, beginning with a goal from Hugo Guillamon just before half-time

Valencia took the initiative in the second half, with Gabriel Paulista opening the scoring, 65 minutes in. The game ended a 1-1 draw.

For Athletic Bilbao, Unai Lopez, Oscar De Marcos, Mikel Vesga, Inigo Lekue and Yuri Berchiche came on for Daniel Wass, Manu Vallejo and Goncalo Guedes, while Valencia brought on Yunus Musah, Patrick Cutrone and Alex Blanco to replace Daniel Wass, Manu Vallejo and Goncalo Guedes.

There were bookings for Alex Berenguer and Inigo Martinez from Athletic Bilbao and Carlos Soler for Valencia.

Next up, Athletic Club are away to Cádiz, whilst Valencia will travel to face Real Madrid.
