Osasuna defeat Alaves 1-0 on Saturday at the Estadio de Mendizorroza. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Alaves were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Real Sociedad. Osasuna, on the other hand, were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Seville. As the table looks today, Alaves and Osasuna currently occupy 17th and 12th spots in the table, with 22 points and 28 points respectively after 25 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Osasuna continued to apply pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Enrique Barja in the 77th minute, sealing a resounding 1-0 victory for the away side.

For Alaves Ruben Duarte, Facundo Pellistri, Luis Rioja and Deyverson came on for Martin Aguirregabiria, Inigo Cordoba, Edgar Mendez and Ximo Navarro, and Osasuna brought on Enrique Barja, Jon Moncayola, Unai Garcia and Enric Gallego for Jonathan Calleri, Lucas Torro, Ruben Garcia and Ante Budimir.

There were bookings for Tomas Pina, Victor Laguardia and Lucas Perez from Alaves and Unai Garcia, Nacho Vidal, David Garcia and Juan Cruz for Osasuna.

Alaves will next play Real Betis away, with Osasuna facing Barcelona at home.
