Italy 3 – Switzerland 0- The Swiss sunk with 3 goals at Stadio Olimpico di Roma

Italy suffered an away loss to Italy on Wednesday at Stadio Olimpico di Roma. Italy were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Switzerland, on the other hand, were unable to beat Wales in a 1-1 draw. As the table looks today, Italy and Switzerland currently occupy 1st and 3rd spots in the table, with 6 points and 1 point respectively after 2 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Italy, with Locatelli opening the rout in the 26th minute, finalising the first half 1-0.

Italy started the second half with an intensified spirit, with Locatelli finding the net again at the 52 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Immobile just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

For Italy, Acerbi, Chiesa, Toloi, Pessina and Cristante, came on for Chiellini, Insigne, Berardi, Locatelli and Barella. Switzerland brought on Gavranovic, Zuber, Widmer, Vargas and Sow, to replace Seferović, Schär, Mbabu, Shaqiri and Freuler.

The referee booked Gavranovic and Embolo for Switzerland.

Switzerland and Italy will next play at home to Turkey and Wales respectively.
