West Bromwich Albion started strongly in the first half, thanks to Matt Phillips opening the scoring just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0.
Sheffield United continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following Jayden Bogle opening the scoring in the 56th minute. Later, Sheffield United scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Billy Sharp, 73 minutes in, sealing a resounding 2-1 victory for the home side.
Both teams used all their substitutes. For Sheffield, Max Lowe, Oliver McBurnie and Oliver Burke came on for George Baldock, Oliver Norwood and Billy Sharp, while Albion brought on Hal Robson-Kanu, Karlan Ahearne-Grant and Conor Gallagher to replace Mbaye Diagne, Callum Robinson and Matt Phillips.
