Sheffield beat Albion with a thumping 2-1 victory on Tuesday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield United were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Manchester City. West Bromwich Albion are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, Sheffield United are in 20th place on the table and has 11 points while West Bromwich Albion sit in 19th with 12 points after 22 matches.

West Bromwich Albion started strongly in the first half, thanks to Matt Phillips opening the scoring just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0.

Sheffield United continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following Jayden Bogle opening the scoring in the 56th minute. Later, Sheffield United scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Billy Sharp, 73 minutes in, sealing a resounding 2-1 victory for the home side.

Both teams used all their substitutes. For Sheffield, Max Lowe, Oliver McBurnie and Oliver Burke came on for George Baldock, Oliver Norwood and Billy Sharp, while Albion brought on Hal Robson-Kanu, Karlan Ahearne-Grant and Conor Gallagher to replace Mbaye Diagne, Callum Robinson and Matt Phillips.

The referee booked John Fleck and David McGoldrick for Sheffield United.

Sheffield United will play their next fixture at home against Chelsea, while West Bromwich Albion will face Tottenham Hotspur away.
