City defeat Burnley 2-0 on Wednesday at Turf Moor. Burnley were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Chelsea. Manchester City were coming from consecutive wins against Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion. As it stands, Burnley are in 16th place on the table and has 22 points while Manchester City sit in 1st with 47 points after 22 matches.

Manchester City started well with, with early goal from Gabriel Jesus in the 3rd minute. Later, Manchester City took the lead with a goal form a goal from Raheem Sterling in the 38th minute. The score at half time was 2-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-0.

For Burnley Dale Stephens, Joel Mumbongo and Josh Benson came on for Jack Cork, Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Westwood, while City brought on Olexandr Zinchenko to replace Joao Cancelo.

There were bookings for Dale Stephens and Joel Mumbongo from Burnley and Ederson for City.

Burnley will next play Brighton & Hove Albion at home, with Manchester City facing Liverpool away.
