Eintracht Frankfurt strolled past Royal Antwerp with a 1-0 win on Thursday at Bosuilstadion. Antwerp were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Olympiacos Piraeus. After a goalless first half, Frankfurt continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Goncalo Paciencia just before the final whistle. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for the visitors.

For Antwerp, Michael Frey, Pieter Gerkens and Koji Miyoshi, came on for Johannes Eggestein, Mbwana Samatta and Manuel Benson. Frankfurt brought on Daichi Kamada, Jesper Lindstrom, Stefan Ilsanker, Goncalo Paciencia and Tuta, to replace Ajdin Hrustic, Sam Lammers, Makoto Hasebe, Rafael Borre and Djibril Sow.
