Real 1 – Monaco 1:Monaco drop points against The White and Blues: 1-1 at the Reale Arena

Real were held to 1-1 draw by Monaco down on Thursday at the Reale Arena. Real arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 2-2 draw against PSV while Monaco were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against SK Sturm Graz in their last match. As it stands, Real and Monaco are 3rd, (1 point) and 2nd, (3 points), in the league respectively, after 2 matches.

Monaco started the game well, with Axel Disasi finding the net at the 16 minute mark, ending the first half 0-1.

The White and Blues fought back, thanks to Mikel Merino finding the net in the 53rd minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Real, Benat Turrientes, Ander Barrenetxea, Andoni Gorosabel and Jon Karrikaburu, came on for Ander Guevara, Portu, Joseba Zaldua and Mikel Oyarzabal. Monaco brought on Ruben Aguilar, Kevin Volland, Aleksandr Golovin, Guillermo Maripan and Strahinja Pavlovic, to replace Djibril Sidibe, Myron Boadu, Youssouf Fofana, Sofiane Diop and Caio Henrique.

There were bookings for Aritz Elustondo from Real, and Guillermo Maripan, Kevin Volland and Axel Disasi, for Monaco.

Next up, Real are away to SK Sturm Graz, whilst Monaco will travel to face PSV.
