Ludogorets were defeated at home by Red Star Belgrade at Huvepharma Arena on Thursday. Ludogorets arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with FC Midtjylland in their previous game. Red Star Belgrade were coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Sporting Braga. As the table looks today, Ludogorets are in 3rd place, with 1 point from 2 matches, while Red Star Belgrade sit in 1st, with 6 points from 2.

Following a goalless first half, Red Star Belgrade continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Kanga Guelor giving Red Star Belgrade the lead in the 64th minute. The game ended with a 1-0 win for Red Star Belgrade.

For Ludogorets, Kiril Despodov, Jordan Ikoko, Mavis Tchibota and Show, came on for Josue Sa, Shaquille Pinas, Alex Santana and Stephane Badji. Red Star Belgrade replaced Lois Diony, Kanga Guelor, Ben and Petar Stanic for Milan Pavkov, Petar Stanic, Richairo Zivkovic and Nenad Krsticic.

The referee booked seven players. Cicinho from Ludogorets, who saw yellow cards and Cicinho (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Red Star Belgrade Lois Diony, Mirko Ivanic, Kanga Guelor, Milan Pavkov and Petar Stanic also seeing yellows.

Ludogorets will next play Sporting Braga at home, with Red Star Belgrade facing FC Midtjylland away.
