Legia Warsaw strolled past Leicester City with a 1-0 win on Thursday at Municipal Stadium of Marshal Jozef Pilsudski. Legia were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Leicester, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, Legia are in 1st place on the table and has 6 points while Leicester sit in 3rd with 1 point after 2 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Legia, thanks to Mahir Emreli giving Legia the lead at the 31 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Legia, Lirim Kastrati, Joel Abu Hanna, Rafael Lopes and Tomas Pekhart, came on for Andre Martins, Mattias Johansson, Josue and Mahir Emreli. Leicester brought on James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Ademola Lookman and Jamie Vardy, to replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ayoze Perez, Daniel Amartey and Patson Daka.

There were bookings for Josue, Mahir Emreli, Tomas Pekhart and Filip Mladenovic from Legia. For Leicester, Luke Thomas and James Maddison saw yellow.
