Wales eased past Turkey in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday at the Baku Olympic Stadium. Turkey arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Italy. Wales, on the other hand, secured a point against Switzerland in their previous match. After today’s result, Turkey and Wales currently occupy 4th and 2nd spots in the league, with 0 points and 4 points respectively after 2 matches.
Wales dominated the first half, with Ramsey finding the net just before half-time, seeing out the first half 0-1.
The Welsh continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Roberts just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-0.
For Turkey, Yazıcı, Demiral, Muldur, Dervisoglu and Kahveci, came on for Tufan, Yokuşlu, Meras, Karaman and Under. Wales brought on Ampadu, Wilson and Williams for Allen, Ramsey and James.
There were bookings for Yilmaz and Çalhanoğlu from Turkey. For Wales, Davies and Mepham saw yellow.
