Turkey lost their first match in the new European Championship campaign against Italy. Today's result, Turkey are currently 4th with zero points from one match, while Italy sit in 1st, with three points.
Following a goalless first half, Italy certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with a goal from Demiral in the 53rd minute. The momentum was now with Italy, who then scored again through a goal from Immobile, on 66 minutes to establish a 2-0. Italy then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Insigne at the 79 minute mark with a final score of 3-0.
For Turkey, Under, Ayhan, Kahveci and Dervisoglu, came on for Yazıcı, Tufan, Yokuşlu and Karaman. Italy brought on Di Lorenzo, Cristante, Belotti, Chiesa and Bernardeschi, to replace Florenzi, Locatelli, Immobile, Insigne and Berardi.
The referee booked Söyüncü and Dervisoglu for Turkey.
In the second round of action in the European Championship, both Italy and Turkey will play at home against Switzerland and Wales respectively.
