Sweden 3 – Poland 2- The Swedes celebrate victory at San Petersburg

Sweden vs. Poland

Sweden defeat Poland 3-2 on Wednesday at Estadio Krestovski. This left, Sweden and Poland are 1st (7 points) and 4th (1 point) in the league respectively, after a total of 3 matches.

The Swedes started strongly in the first half, thanks to an early goal from Forsberg in the 2nd minute, ending the first half 1-0.

Sweden continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Forsberg finding the net again, 59 minutes in. However, Poland weren't lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Lewandowski at the 61 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Poles, who then scored again through a 2nd effort from Lewandowski at the 84 minute mark to establish a 2-2. In the end though, Sweden just before the final whistle took the victory via a Claesson goal, which sealed the victory for Sweden.

For Sweden, Kulusevski, Krafth, Berg and Claesson, came on for Quaison, Lustig, Isak and Forsberg. Poland brought on Frankowski, Swierczok, Kozlowski and Placheta, to replace Puchacz, Jóźwiak, Klich and Krychowiak.

There were bookings for Danielson from Sweden, and Krychowiak and Glik, for Poland.
