The Danes didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Damsgaard opening the rout at the 38 minute mark, ending the first half 0-1.
Denmark continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Poulsen finding the net after 59 minutes. However, The Russians weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Dzyuba, on 70 minutes. However, Denmark increased their advantage with a Christensen goal at the 79 minute mark to make it 3-1. Denmark then scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Mæhle, 82 minutes in with a final score of 4-1.
For Russia, Zhemaletdinov, Sobolev, Karavaev and Maksim Mukhin, came on for Ozdoev, Aleksey Miranchuk, Kuzyaev and Kudryashov. Denmark brought on Stryger, Dolberg, Nørgaard, Cornelius and Jensen, to replace Wass, Poulsen, Damsgaard, Braithwaite and Delaney.
There were bookings for Kudryashov and Igor Diveev from Russia. For Denmark, Delaney saw yellow.
