Netherlands 0 – Czech Republic 2- The Czechs leave the Puskas Arena with victory

Netherlands vs. Czech Republic

Czech Republic will be in the quarterfinals after winning the leg 2-0 against the Netherlands.

After an un-eventful first half, Czech Republic continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Holeš at the 68 minute mark. Czech Republic then scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Schick, on 80 minutes to make it 2-0.

For Netherlands, Promes, Weghorst, Berghuis and Timber, came on for Malen, De Roon, Blind and Van Aanholt. Czech Republic brought on Jankto, Hložek, Kral, Krmencik and Sadilek, to replace Masopust, Ševčík, Holeš, Schick and Barak.

The referee booked four players. Dumfries and De Jong from Netherlands, who saw yellow cards and De Ligt, sent off with a red, as well as for Czech Republic Coufal also seeing yellows.

The Czechs now march on to the next stage, having dispatched their opponents in the last. This was a result that will give them renewed confidence going forward.
