The Germans took the initiative in the second half, with Havertz finding the net in the 66th minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Hungary then found the back of the net, 68 minutes in thanks to Schafer, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Goretzka equalised for Germany at the 84 minute mark. The game ended wih a 2-2 draw.
