Belgium vs. Italy

Italy won 2-1 against to Belgium in the meeting held this Friday at the Allianz Arena and have qualified for the semifinal.

Italy started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Barella, on 31 minutes. Italy looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Insigne at the 44 minute mark to establish a 2-0. However, Belgium just before half-time pull-back following a Lukaku goal, finishing the first half 1-2. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-1.

For Belgium, Mertens, Chadli and Praet, came on for Tielemans, Meunier and Chadli. Italy brought on Belotti, Cristante, Berardi, Emerson and Toloi, to replace Immobile, Verratti, Insigne, Spinazzola and Chiesa.

There were bookings for Tielemans from Belgium. For Italy, Verratti and Berardi saw yellow.

This victory will please Italy to maintain this winning form as they advance in the competition, whilst The Belgians must now wait another season to try again.
