West Brom 3 – Luton 2: Points secure as The Baggies ease past The Hatters

West Bromwich Albion beat Luton Town with a thumping 3-2 victory on Saturday at The Hawthorns. West Brom arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth. Luton, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Peterborough United. As it stands, West Brom and Luton sit 4th, (4 points) and 11th, (3 points), in the league respectively, after 2 matches.

The Baggies started strongly in the first half, thanks to an early calamitous own goal from Kal Naismith in the 5th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Callum Robinson made it 2-0 at the 36 minute mark, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

West Brom continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Karlan Grant in the 66th minute. However, Luton weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Harry Cornick in the 70th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Ruddock Pelly made it 3-2 just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-2.

There were bookings for Alex Mowatt and Kenneth Zohore from West Brom. For Luton, Allan Campbell and Gabriel Osho saw yellow.

West Brom will next play Sheffield United at home, with Luton facing Barnsley away.
