On Tuesday, Rotherham United and Stoke City were held to a 3-3 draw at the Aesseal New York Stadium. Rotherham United were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 1-0 victory against Derby County. Stoke City, on the other hand, were unable to beat Blackburn Rovers in a 1-1 draw. As the table looks today, Rotherham United and Stoke City currently occupy 23rd and 8th spots in the league, with 19 points and 36 points respectively after 25 matches.

Stoke City started the game well, beginning with Angus MacDonald opening the scoring in the 14th minute. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from a Matt Crooks in the 31st minute brought Rotherham United level. The score at half time was 1-1.

The second half started all good for Rotherham United, with a goal from Michael Smith, 51 minutes in. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from a goal from Danny Batth, 62 minutes in brought Stoke City level. However, Rotherham United reestablished their lead 3-2 following a new Matt Crooks goal, 67 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Nick Powell, 75 minutes in brought Stoke City level, leaving the final score at 3-3.

For Rotherham, Clark Robertson, Freddie Ladapo and George Hirst came on for Jordan Cousins and Jacob Brown, and Stoke City brought on Joe Allen and Steven Fletcher for Jordan Cousins and Jacob Brown.

The referee booked Matt Crooks and Matthew Olosunde for Rotherham United.

Rotherham United will next travel to Luton Town, while Stoke City will face Watford at home.
