Sheffield U 2 – North End 2: Honours even and points shared at Bramall Lane

Sheffield U were held to 2-2 draw by North End down on Tuesday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield U were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. North End, on the other hand, secured a point against Bristol City in their previous match. As the table looks today, Sheffield U are in 14th place, with 6 points from 7 matches, while North End sit in 12th, with 8 points from 7.

The Blades started the first half well, thanks to Morgan Gibbs-White finding the net early in the first half. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Daniel Johnson equalised for North End in the 18th minute. The score at half time was 1-1.

Sheffield U fought back the second half, with a goal from Sander Berge at the 84 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Emil Riis equalised for The Lilywhites just before the final whistle. The final result, Sheffield U 2, North End 2.

Sheffield U brought on Sander Berge, Rhian Brewster and Conor Hourihane for Luke Freeman, Iliman Ndiaye and Oliver Norwood. North End brought on Brad Potts, Ali McCann and Josh Murphy, to replace Sean Maguire, Daniel Johnson and Patrick Bauer.

There were bookings for Oliver Norwood and Rhys Norrington-Davies from Sheffield U, and Emil Riis, for North End.

Sheffield U will next travel to Hull City, while North End will face West Bromwich Albion at home.
