Birmingham City strolled past Rotherham United with a 1-0 win on Sunday at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Rotherham arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Huddersfield Town in their previous match. Birmingham were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Stoke City. As the table looks today, Rotherham are in 22nd place on the table and has 39 points while Birmingham sit in 18th with 48 points after 42 matches.
After a goalless first half, Birmingham continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Harlee Dean just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for the visitors.
For Rotherham, George Hirst, Ben Wiles and Jamie Lindsay, came on for Freddie Ladapo, Shaun MacDonald and Clark Robertson. Birmingham brought on Ivan Sanchez, Scott Hogan, Rakeem Harper, Sam Cosgrove and George Friend, to replace Riley McGree, Jonathan Leko, Gary Gardner, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Steve Seddon.
The referee booked Michael Ihiekwe and Richard Wood for Rotherham.
Birmingham and Rotherham will next play at home to Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough respectively.
