Queens Park Rangers beat Coventry City with a thumping 2-0 victory on Saturday at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. QPR wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Barnsley in their previous game whilst Coventry were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Reading and Blackpool. As the table looks today, QPR and Coventry are 7th, (8 points) and 6th, (9 points), in the table respectively, after 5 matches.
Following a goalless first half, QPR applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Lyndon Dykes finding the net at the 68 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Yoann Barbet made it 2-0, 76 minutes in to make it 2-0.
As for substitutions, for QPR, Lyndon Dykes, Andre Dozzell and Osman Kakay, came on for Ilias Chair, Charlie Austin and Sam McCallum, Coventry brought on Matt Godden, Tyler Walker and Jamie Allen, to replace Martyn Waghorn, Viktor Gyokeres and Jake Clarke-Salter.
There were bookings for Stefan Johansen from QPR. For Coventry, Jake Clarke-Salter saw yellow.
QPR will next travel to Reading, while Coventry will face Middlesbrough at home.
