Swansea started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Joel Piroe in the 19th minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Sepp Van den Berg, 21 minutes in brought North End level. However they weren’t finished yet and Emil Riis made it 2-1 just before half-time, to take a 2-1 lead into half time.
The Lilywhites staged a comeback in the second half, with a goal from Ben Whiteman, at 52 minutes. The game ended 3-1 to North End.
