North End were held to 1-1 draw by Stoke down on Tuesday at Deepdale. North End were looking for a victory after a scoreless draw against Birmingham City in their previous match. Stoke, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Hull City. As it stands, North End are in 15th place, with 11 points from 10 matches, while Stoke sit in 4th, with 18 points from 10.

Stoke dominated the first half, with Nick Powell finding the net after only 7 minutes. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Ben Whiteman equalised for The Lilywhites in the 38th minute. The first half ended 1-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For North End, Alan Browne, Ali McCann and Josh Murphy, came on for Sean Maguire, Ben Whiteman and Ryan Ledson. Stoke brought on Sam Clucas and Sam Surridge, to replace Mario Vrancic and Jacob Brown.

There were bookings for Gregory Cunningham and Emil Riis from North End. For Stoke, Leo Ostigard, Jordan Thompson, Ben Wilmot, Josh Tymon and Sam Clucas saw yellow.

North End will next play Queens Park Rangers away, with Stoke facing West Bromwich Albion at home.
