Birmingham City were held to 1-1 draw by Coventry City down on Saturday at St Andrew’s Stadium. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Birmingham City were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Preston North End. Coventry City, on the other hand, were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Reading. As it stands, Birmingham City are in 20th place, with 27 points from 27 matches, while Coventry City sit in 17th, with 30 points from 27.
Birmingham City started strong and were rewarded, beginning with Jeremie Bela opening the scoring in the 18th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Gustavo Hamer in the 29th minute brought Coventry City level to see out the first half 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-1.
