Forest 0 – Boro 2- Red dogs beaten at home by The Boro

Forest were defeated at home by Middlesbrough at the City Ground on Wednesday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Forest were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Cardiff City in their previous fixture. Boro lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Coventry City. As it stands, Forest are in 24th place, with 1 point from 7 matches, while Boro sit in 12th, with 9 points from 7.

Boro dominated the first half, thanks to Andraz Sporar giving The Boro the lead at the 24 minute mark, which saw the first half end 0-1.

Boro continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Onel Hernandez in the 72nd minute. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-0 to Boro.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Forest, Alexandre Silva, Joe Lolley and Jayden Richardson, came on for Lyle Taylor, James Garner and Loic Mbe Soh, Boro brought on Isaiah Jones, Uche Ikpeazu and Duncan Watmore to replace James Lea Siliki, Andraz Sporar and Onel Hernandez.

There were bookings for Ryan Yates from Forest. For Boro, Andraz Sporar, Jonny Howson, Lee Peltier, Matt Crooks and Onel Hernandez saw yellow.

Forest will play their next fixture away against Huddersfield Town, while Boro will face Blackpool at home.
