Norwich City 1-3 Bournemouth: Visitors secure victory as The Cherries beat The Canaries 3-1

Norwich City fell to a home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth at Carrow Road on Saturday. Both Norwich and Bournemouth arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Norwich had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Derby County away (1-0), the other to Huddersfield Town at home (7-0). Bournemouth were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers. As the table looks today, Norwich are currently 1st with 90 points from 42 matches, while Bournemouth sit in 5th, with 74 points from 42.

Norwich found the net first, with an early goal from Emiliano Buendia in the 5th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

Bournemouth started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to an early goal from Sam Surridge in the 50th minute. The momentum was now with The Cherries, who then scored again through a goal from Arnaut Danjuma after 57 minutes to establish a 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Lloyd Kelly made it 3-1 at the 76 minute mark with a final score of 3-1.

For Norwich, Jakob Lungi Sorensen, Przemyslaw Placheta, Jordan Hugill and Onel Hernandez, came on for Kieran Dowell, Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell and Emiliano Buendia. Bournemouth brought on Sam Surridge, Junior Stanislas and Jack Stacey, to replace Jefferson Lerma, David Brooks and Arnaut Danjuma.

The referee booked Tim Krul, Kenny McLean and Oliver Skipp from Norwich and Dimitris Giannoulis went off with a red card, while Bournemouth’s Jefferson Lerma, Adam Smith and David Brooks also received a yellow.

Norwich will play their next fixture at home against Watford, while Bournemouth will face Millwall away.
