Millwall 1 – Blackburn 1- The Lions locked into a draw at home to Rovers

On Saturday, Millwall and Blackburn were held to a 1-1 draw at the Den. Millwall wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers in their previous game. Blackburn, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Swansea City in their last match. After today’s result, Millwall and Blackburn currently occupy 16th and 6th spots in the league, with 2 points and 4 points respectively after 2 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Millwall took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Jed Wallace giving The Lions the lead, 64 minutes in. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Ben Brereton equalised for Blackburn, 76 minutes in. The final result, Millwall 1, Blackburn 1.

Both coaches used allfull available substitutions. For Millwall, Ryan Leonard, Matt Smith and Billy Mitchell, came on for George Saville, Benik Afobe and George Evans, Blackburn brought on Hayden Carter, Daniel Butterworth and Harry Chapman, to replace Tyrhys Dolan, Harry Pickering and John Buckley.

There were bookings for Maikel Kieftenbeld from Millwall. For Blackburn, Darragh Lenihan and Daniel Ayala saw yellow.

Millwall will next play Fulham at home, with Blackburn facing Nottingham Forest away.
