Boro 2 – Bristol 1: The Boro secure 3 points at home against The Robins

Middlesbrough beats Bristol City 2-1 on Saturday at the Riverside Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Boro wanted to continue adding points following a 1-1 draw with Fulham in their previous game. Bristol secured a point against Blackpool in their previous match. As things stand, Boro and Bristol currently occupy 5th and 17th spots in the table, with 4 points and 1 point respectively after 2 matches.

Boro started the game well, thanks to Uche Ikpeazu finding the net at the 38 minute mark, finalising the first half 1-0.

Bristol took the initiative in the second half, with Andy King finding the net, at 60 minutes. In the end though, The Boro in the 70th minute took the victory via a Matt Crooks goal so at full time it was 2-1 to Boro.

For Boro, Martin Payero and Souleymane Bamba, came on for Uche Ikpeazu and Isaiah Jones. Bristol brought on Nahki Wells, Saikou Janneh and Tomas Kalas, to replace Kasey Palmer, Alex Scott and Zak Vyner.

The referee booked Robert Atkinson for Bristol.

Boro will next play Queens Park Rangers at home, with Bristol facing Reading away.
