Boro 1 – Blackburn 1- Plenty of goals but no win at the Riverside Stadium

On Saturday, Boro and Blackburn were held to a 1-1 draw at the Riverside Stadium. Boro arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Derby County in their previous match. Blackburn were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against West Bromwich Albion. As the table looks today, Boro and Blackburn currently occupy 13th and 10th spots in the league, with 6 points and 8 points respectively after 5 matches.

Blackburn started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Sam Gallagher at the 17 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Jonny Howson equalised for Boro in the 36th minute, finishing the first half 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-1.

For Boro, Toyosi Olusanya and Marc Bola, came on for Duncan Watmore and Isaiah Jones. Blackburn brought on Tyler Magloire, John Buckley and Tyrhys Dolan, to replace Joe Rothwell, Leighton Clarkson and Ian Poveda.

Boro and Blackburn played a tough game where the referee sanctioned Boro with yellow cards to Toyosi Olusanya and with red card to Sam Morsy, while from Blackburn Hayden Carter, Lewis Travis and Tyrhys Dolan were booked and red to Hayden Carter (2 yellow cards).

Boro will next travel to Coventry City, while Blackburn will face Luton Town at home.
