Middlesbrough 1-2 Queens Park Rangers – Queens Park Rangers manage 2-1 win against Middlesbrough

Boro on Saturday lost to Queens Park Rangers on a home defeat at the Riverside Stadium. Boro arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 2-0 to Barnsley while QPR were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-1 victory against Sheffield Wednesday. After today’s result, Boro and QPR currently occupy 10th and 12th spots in the league, with 57 points and 56 points respectively after 42 matches.

It was an impressive opening from QPR, with Rob Dickie finding the net at the 15 minute mark. QPR looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Lee Wallace, 18 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, Boro pull-back in the 28th minute, with a goal from Yannick Bolasie. The score at half time was 1-2. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Boro, Marvin Johnson, Djed Spence and Britt Assombalonga, came on for Darnell Fisher, Hayden Coulson and Yannick Bolasie. QPR brought on Joe Lumley,, Sam Field and Stephen Duke-Mckenna, to replace George Thomas, Albert Adomah, Chris Willock and Ilias Chair.

Next up, Boro are away to Rotherham United, whilst QPR will travel to face Swansea City.
